What’s The Background

While I was finishing the first year of my college, I was deeply engrossed into designing, especially UI/UX Designing. However, during my semester break, I had a month or two to be potentially available for internships. This is when I joined SaathiGEN as a UI/UX intern.

Solution: SaathiGEN, a web-app

SaathiGEN is an online platform that solves two major problems in the education industry across the world -

1. The ability to easily connect and collaborate with trustable middle/high schools to facilitate international programs.

2. Exposing students to global issues that are important but not part of their regular curriculum.

With Saathi GEN, school officials can create personal profiles that especially cater to the international programs they have to offer. Our detailed search/filter allows schools, students and private counsellors to easily find a perfect match for the student who wants to study abroad.

While students can gain immense cultural exposure and perspective by traveling to a different country, not many can afford that. We solve this problem by bringing cultural and educational collaboration to their screens. Member schools can create groups between 3-5 students who will collaborate with another group of 3-5 students from a different international school. We have 10-week task-based curricula for more than 120 global issues - all designed according to student grade and group size. With basic communication features such as calling and presenting, our platform has gamified learning for these groups of students so that they can not only learn about each other's cultures and countries, but also enjoy thinking critically about major worldly issues at an early age.

For every project, the group leaders score each other's groups out of 100. Our platform is designed to encourage schools to build as many connections as they can in order to create as many student collaborations as they can. At the end of the year, the top-5 schools to get the highest cumulative scores (by getting as many student collaborations as possible) receive prestigious awards from us and our affiliated organisations. This will not only boost their local reputation and thus giving them with a huge increase in student demand, but also give them international recognition.

My Task

When I joined SaathiGEN, the project was already at the designing step and I was required to use the already developed design style guides to design the web app interfaces.
